Pemindahan rambut tidak sama dengan kulit cantuman dalam cantuman yang mengandungi hampir semua epidermis dan dermis sekitar folikel rambut,

Medicines and Treatment for Hair Loss Effectively Recognized By Science 2015

Minoxidil (Rogaine)

 

 topical medications available over the counter, and no prescription is required. It can be used in both men and women.

It works best on the crown. Minoxidil is available as a solution of 2%, 4% solution, additional – 5% solution strength, and foam or mousse form.

Rogaine can grow a little hair, but it is better to hold what is still there. It should be applied twice a day, morning and evening once

Minoxidil is one of the most popular solutions in which minoxidil applied directly to the scalp to stimulate hair follicles.

Rogaine slows hair loss for many men, and some men grow new hair. Hair loss returns when you stop using this medication.

 

 

 

Finasteride (Propecia, Proscar)

 

 This medication is FDA approved for use in men only with androgenic hair loss.Although not FDA approved for women, it has been used “off label”

in women with androgenic hair loss who are not pregnant or plan to become pregnant while taking this medication.

Finasteride is in a class of medications known as 5-alpha reductase inhibitor.

It is believed to help reduce hair loss by blocking the action of natural hormones in the hair follicles of the scalp.

Propecia is a version lower-dose drug commercially available called Proscar, which helps shrink enlarged prostate in middle-aged men and older.

Women, especially those who are or may become pregnant should not handle finasteride capsule.

Touching the capsule content can potentially harm the fetus men and women who did not accidentally

touch leaking capsules should wash the area to avoid side effects.

Propecia 1 mg tablets are available by prescription and is taken once a day. Propecia can grow and thicken the hair to some extent for some people,

but its main use is to keep (preserve) the hair is still there. Studies have shown that these drugs work well in some type

of hair loss and should be used for about six to 12 months before the full impact is determined. This medication does not “work” in days to weeks,

and the beginning of an increase tends to be seen gradually. It may be better for those who still have enough hair

to maintain but also can help regrow some hair. Side effects are possible but very unlikely including impotence or decreased sexual desire (libido).

Studies have shown that these side effects are probably a bit more common than seen in the general population and reversible when the drug is stopped.

Anagen (Growing Phase)

The growing phase lasts two to seven years and determines the length of our hair.

Catagen (Transition Phase)

This is the transitional stage that lasts about ten days. The hair follicle shrinks and detaches from the dermal papilla.

Telogen (Resting Phase)

This is the resting phase which lasts around three months. Around 10-15 percent of hairs are in this phase. Whilst the old hair is resting, a new hair begins the growth phase.

Exogen (New Hair Phase)

This is part of the resting phase where the old hair sheds and a new hair continues to grow. Approximately 50 to 150 hairs can fall out daily, this is considered to be normal hair shedding.

• Chronic telogen effluvium is hair shedding lasting longer than 6 months. The onset is often insidious, and it can be difficult to identify an inciting event. Because of the duration of the hair shedding, patients are more likely to complain of decreased scalp hair density, or they may note that their hair appears thin and lifeless.

Medical Care:

• Because acute telogen effluvium is a reactive process, which resolves spontaneously, treatment usually is limited to reassurance.
• While chronic telogen effluvium is less likely to resolve rapidly, reassurance is appropriate for these patients. Often, the knowledge that the hair loss will not progress to baldness is comforting to the patient. The patient should be encouraged to style the hair in a way, which masks any perceived defects in hair density.
• Any reversible cause of hair shedding, such as poor diet, iron deficiency, hypothyroidism, or medication use, should be corrected.
• While topical minoxidil is not proven to promote recovery of hair in telogen effluvium, this medication has a theoretical benefit and is well tolerated. Patients who are eager to play an active role in their treatment may choose to use minoxidil.

Though both extraction techniques basically allow the same number of hairs to be extracted, there is one major difference. In an FUT, under good working conditions, 4000 – 5000 FUs can be extracted in one operation session. The corresponding figure for FUE is 3000 – 3500 FUs. Using the FUE technique, a second operation is generally needed to achieve the same number of FUs. This can only take place some 6 months later.

A randomized clinical trial of 5% topical minoxidil versus 2% topical minoxidil and placebo in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia in men.
BACKGROUND:
Topical minoxidil solution 2% stimulates new hair growth and helps stop the loss of hair in individuals with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Results can be variable, and historical experience suggests that higher concentrations of topical minoxidil may enhance efficacy.

OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this 48-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized, multicenter trial was to compare 5% topical minoxidil with 2% topical minoxidil and placebo in the treatment of men with AGA.

METHODS:
A total of 393 men (18-49 years old) with AGA applied 5% topical minoxidil solution (n = 157), 2% topical minoxidil solution (n = 158), or placebo (vehicle for 5% solution; n = 78) twice daily. Efficacy was evaluated by scalp target area hair counts and patient and investigator assessments of change in scalp coverage and benefit of treatment.

RESULTS:
After 48 weeks of therapy, 5% topical minoxidil was significantly superior to 2% topical minoxidil and placebo in terms of change from baseline in nonvellus hair count, patient rating of scalp coverage and treatment benefit, and investigator rating of scalp coverage. Hair count data indicate that response to treatment occurred earlier with 5% compared with 2% topical minoxidil. Additionally, data from a patient questionnaire on quality of life, global benefit, hair growth, and hair styling demonstrated that 5% topical minoxidil helped improve patients’ psychosocial perceptions of hair loss. An increased occurrence of pruritus and local irritation was observed with 5% topical minoxidil compared with 2% topical minoxidil.
CONCLUSION:
In men with AGA, 5% topical minoxidil was clearly superior to 2% topical minoxidil and placebo in increasing hair regrowth, and the magnitude of its effect was marked (45% more hair regrowth than 2% topical minoxidil at week 48). Men who used 5% topical minoxidil also had an earlier response to treatment than those who used 2% topical minoxidil. Psychosocial perceptions of hair loss in men with AGA were also improved. Topical minoxidil (5% and 2%) was well tolerated by the men in this trial without evidence of systemic effects.
